The Team

Our Real Estate practice represents a formidable powerhouse in the UK. As one of the firm's key areas of expertise, real estate is at the heart of Addleshaw Goddard.The Real Estate Division is one of Addleshaw Goddard's largest, comprising a team in excess of 200. Within the Leeds, the mainstream Real Estate team currently comprises of 7 partners and over 40 other fee earners. The team place a high emphasis on their transactional expertise and are able to bring a commercial and business-oriented approach to a wide range of property matters.

What will the role entail?

We are looking for a talented Real Estate Lawyer to join our ambitious team. Investment and growth in the team is something we are committed to. You may be an experienced Associate looking for the next step in your career or a junior Associate looking to make a move into a bigger firm, either way we'd love to speak to you about AG can offer you. The team are open to an informal, exploratory conversation if you have any questions about the firm, team or work before you submit your application.

We have a particular interest in candidates with an interest or expertise in Transport projects, especially in the rail environment. At AG we work on some of the biggest transport projects in the market, working for major public sector clients working through rail and bus reform and developers and investors incorporating transport hubs in their ambitious regeneration projects, transforming our towns and cities. Working with our 100+ strong Transport Sector team across the firm, there is huge opportunity to develop or add to an existing specialism and help drive this complex, interesting work, alongside other commercial property work, likely to involve development transactions.

We have a strong reputation for providing Associates with early levels of responsibility within a supportive, stretching environment.  At this stage in your career the team will take a genuine interest and support you with your development ensuring that you have the tools and access to work to become a well-rounded and successful lawyer.

 

Where will you work?

You will be based in either the Leeds or Manchester office. The wider Real Estate team are based across all of our UK offices. We operate a flexible, hybrid working system comprising a blend of working in the office and working from home, and we expect that that this will continue for the foreseeable future.

 

Who will you be?

To succeed in this role, you will have a minimum of three years' post qualification experience and will have established a good grounding in commercial property and real estate matters.

Experience in transport or other infrastructure work would be extremely advantageous.

You will have excellent communication skills, a good understanding of real estate law and a willingness to learn and develop commercial awareness. Someone with good social skills, plenty of drive and enthusiasm will allow us to help us to provide an excellent client service. In addition to this you should be able to demonstrate you are able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, challenging environment, where you will be required to meet tight deadlines.   

Fundamentally, you need enthusiasm, resilience and ambition. That is, the ambition to improve yourself with the best possible work, making the most of the opportunities you will be given, whilst still having time to enjoy life outside work.  You should be comfortable with the variety of work on offer, willing to embrace it and not be daunted.

You must have demonstrable academics or relevant experience or interests.
